tp Swings In our tp Swing Department you will find over 30 products from tp Activity Toys set out under Metal Swings and Wooden Swings.  We display, stock and install stand alone swings and a huge range of swing accessories. Some choices to consider; Size - Single, Double or Triple frame Materials - Metal, Roundwood or Sawnwood Configuration - Swing frame (you choose your own seats) or Swing set (seats included) All our frames can take a single seat, but duo rides need a timber frame or tp Giant Swing Frame.  Wooden frames use snap-shackles so single seats can be changed in moments (eg changing a toddler nursery seat for a trapeze bar)  but duo rides will need duoride brackets. Modules - tp offer modules that can be added to your swing frame for increased play value (eg tp Swingdeck) Should you have any questions or require further information you can; - call us for independent advice - visit our Display Centres and try them out for yourself Wood Cracks & Splits (Shakes) These are natural features of any timber and will vary in size depending on ambient temperature and humidity. Roundwood structures (eg tp Sherwood range) much more prone to shakes since it is much younger but provided the shake does not exceed 3% of the circumference or continues through to the centre of the timber then the structure will not be affected. Sawn timber will be less prone to shakes but here you should look out for the timber grade and finish. A lower grade timber will be cheaper but usually have a higher knot count, a wider grain and a rougher finish. A higher-grade timber will be more expensive but have a low knot count, a tight grain and a smoother finish. Preservatives Since July 2004 timber products have had to be pressure treated with a non-toxic, water based solution (e.g. Tanalith E).  This has been in use for more than 10 years and is an EU approved alternative to the older arsenic based preservatives, which have been banned from use in domestic and commercial applications.
